The beautiful and famous resort of Megeve has become one of the most chic areas to ski in the world. Very popular with the French and Swiss, it has an air of sophistication and understated style rarely found in French resorts.

The pretty cobbled village centre is traffic free except for the horse drawn carriages which congregate outside the medieval church in the main central square. The high quality of shopping and goods have earned it the nick name of the Bond Street of the Alps.

With many fine dining establishments, including several Michelin starred, bars and night clubs, there is something for everyone.  The pro-active and friendly tourist board provide street entertainment and activities throughout the winter season to ensure that all visitors to the town will enjoy holidays to remember.

There is a weekly market each Friday between 0800 and 1300.

Skiing:

The Princesse lift, located just a few metres from Chalet DeCarlucci, opens up the possibility of over 300km of pisted runs within Megeve, St Gervais and the St Nicholas de Veroce ski areas. Many of the runs are tree lined and benefit from snow cannons.

The Evasion Ski Pass provides the opportunity to ski even further afield with 420km of pisted runs and includes all of the areas mentioned above plus Jaillet, Combloux and Les Contamines.

The village plays host to the Ladies World Cup downhill at Cote 2000 each January.
